HYPER RING
A Transport Hub that Accommodate Cultural Life

Academic Project  Spring 2019  Team Work with Yi Wu
Instructor:  Lu Ye
My Role: Concept Design, Model Design/Making, Rendering, Diagram and Technical Drawing
Site: Suzhou North Railway Station, Suzhou, Jiangsu, China
This project attempts to reflect on the chaotic intersection of linear circulation in traditional stations and the wastefulness of large, mono-functional areas of station plazas.

The park is used to re-integrate the station's passengers, and the first floor cantilevered corridor increases the speed of passenger flow and brings natural light into the semi-underground urban cultural spaces, while the circular station circulation efficiently organizes the high-speed rail station, coach station, taxi-hub, subway station and parking building.
The library, theaters, museum and commercial spaces are housed at the bottom of the 'Ring', and the public will be able to access these spaces by entering the first floor gallery.
Instead of a single large concourse in front of a traditional station, a landscaped park is used to transport passengers to their desired platform.
